- - - - - - - - - - Thank you for all of your support of the Light
of Christ Council over the past year. With your help, Council 8726 enjoyed
one of its most productive years. And
we have big plans for the coming year. We are scheduling our monthly,
world-famous, all-you-care-to-eat breakfasts to begin in September, and that
is only the beginning! Our annual Basketball Free Throw Championship will
take place in January, our Council’s family events include a Summer picnic
and a night at the Reading Phillies, and we’ll have a few new twists and
surprises, too. Our
Grand Knight for this fraternal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30,
is Anthony Calderoni. Tony is looking forward to putting his special mark on
the Council’s activities. Our
immediate Past Grand Knight, Kerry Williard, enjoyed two years as the
Council’s leader, and wishes to thank each of you for your support and
encouragement throughout his term. Keep an eye on our
Schedule of Events which can be found by clicking the “Calendar” button to
the left. About
the Council The Light of Christ Council is headquartered at St. Ignatius
Loyola Church in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. Council 8726 has been designated as a “Star Council” in four
of the last eight years. This designation is in recognition of the council’s
successful membership recruiting efforts, extensive charitable activities,
and insurance sales achievements. Only about 10% of all councils throughout
the world achieve Star Council status. Council meetings are held on the 2nd and the 4th
Mondays of each month at 7:30pm. The majority of the meetings are held in the
meeting rooms at the Parish Education Center on St. Alban’s Drive. Consult
the calendar of events for special locations or scheduling changes. Council
meetings are restricted to members only. The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic family
fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members
and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic
Church, their communities, families, and young people. The Knights of Columbus was established over 125 years ago by
Father Michael J. McGivney, in New Haven, CT. The Order’s international headquarters
is still located in New Haven today. |
