Knights of Columbus Light of Christ Council 8726 ______________________________ St. Ignatius Loyola Church Sinking Spring, PA |
|
|
|
Degrees The Knights of
Columbus have established four separate measurements, or degrees, to
recognize a member Knight’s level of achievement. These levels must be earned
in order, with full Knighthood being achieved after the Third Degree. Many of the local
Councils have their own First Degree Teams, which conduct their initiation
ceremonies throughout the fraternal year. A district-wide Second Degree Team
exists to provide opportunities for advancement at the local level. A regional Third
Degree Team conducts its ceremonial presentations throughout Eastern
Pennsylvania. Fourth Degree A separate level, the
Fourth Degree, also known as the Patriotic Degree, provides additional
opportunities for member Knights, including optional membership in the Color
Corp, the Order’s publicly recognized, formal honor guard shown below. |
